Parish Council Meeting. Report from meeting dated Wednesday, 21st September, 2011.
We are awaiting a meeting with Jelsons Ltd, with regard to obtaining the
green area at the rear of Lindsey Road for village use. Hopefully by the
next meeting we will have a positive outcome. Photographs have been
sent to LCC Highways pointing out the unsatisfactory state of the repairs
on Lindsey Road. Uffington Village Hall has received their second and final
donation of £500 for 2011. The street light at Newstead covered in foliage
which makes it function incorrectly, this has been reported to SKDC. The
resident of 75 Main Road, and LCC Highways have been written to
regarding the leylandii hedge around this property to try to improve the
visibility for pedestrians. SKDC have also been requested to pick up the
disintegrated rubbish bin in the lay by next to West Hall Farm. County
Councillor Martin-Trollop Bellew reported that LCC have 45K tons of salt at
their disposal for the forthcoming winter. Also he reported that the
Heritage bid to keep Stamford Museum open has failed. The Site
Allocation and Policies Development Plan for this area had been approved
and it has identified that Uffington needs three affordable houses
between 2010 and 2015 and the search for a suitable site has begun.
Regarding Planning Applications for the village, those to be discussed at
the Parish Council Meetings are put on the notification of meeting notice
posted on the two village notice boards. Also there is always a yellow
SKDC proposed planning notification posted on or nearby the site in
question. SKDC Planning Department No. is 01476 406306 and their email
is planning@southkesteven.gov.uk should anyone wish to contact them.
Should anyone wish to view the full Minutes of Uffington Parish Council
they are always posted on the Uffington Web Site. Date of next meeting
