GREATFORD Church Flowers: Susan Manning Church Cleaning: Joan Aylett and Popsy Wells Coffee morning: The final coffee morning to raise funds for city dwellers who lost everything in the urban riots, will take place in Greatford Church on Saturday 5 November from 10.00 to 11.30. Everyone is most welcome, as are offers of help and donations of baking and other kitchen produce for consumption and sale. Carlby & District WI: The October meeting was a Members’ Meeting ably organised by Margaret Hawkins and Sarah Cardew. Games and Nibbles were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The next meeting will be held at Carlby Village Hall on 8 November at 7.30 p.m and there will be an Illustrated Talk by Chris Andrews entitled – Gardening for Wildlife. EVERYONE (from Carlby, Wilsthorpe, Braceborough and Greatford and other local villages) is very welcome. New members and visitors are always welcome. The Parish Council will meet on Tuesday 22 November at 7:30pm in the Village Hall, all residents are welcome to attend and raise matters of concern. Special Church Meeting at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 23 November in Church to discuss possible change of Sunday services. Greatford Glitz - Saturday 17 December 8pm to Midnight: Greatford village hall is set to be transformed on a Winter wonderland theme for this year’s Christmas party. Dress to impress, with spot prizes for best dressed man and woman on this year’s theme. Think white, ice, winter and get inspired! This year’s food will come hot and sizzling from Boundary Fish and Chip Shop in Deeping St James. Choose from fish n chips, sausage or fish cakes. We need you to confirm your order and pay for tickets by 2 December at the latest. £15 with food, £10 without food. Watch out for the flyer to be delivered soon. Children’s Afternoon Party (with special guest) 2pm to 3.30pm: To make sure the children aren’t left out (and are tired out for the babysitters!) we have organised a party for all ages on the same day. We will have a special guest appearance giving out presents to the younger children so please confirm ages when you book tickets, again by 2 December if possible to help us plan catering. Flag Flying: You can help to raise funds by having the Union Jack or the Flag of St George flown in honour of any special event (other flags can be flown if you supply them!). The Flags can be flown at the Village Hall in aid of Village Hall Funds or on the flagpole outside the Church in aid of Church Funds. Please contact Cyril Webb on 560437 in either case.
